SIDER BOOK

Manufactured by: Vaselli

Designed by: Emanuel Gargano + Marco Williams Fagioli

The Sider bookcase consists of a sequence of alternating blocks of stone and/or wood, made according to the customer’s tastes and choices. A considerable contrast between the volumes and very thin shelves: once filled with books or various ornaments, the bookcase structure disappears and becomes a single unit, which can be composed at will. The bookcase is made exclusively of different Travertine stone from Rapolano for the uprights (Becagli Travertine, Noce Travertine, Dorato Travertine and Bianco Rapolano Travertine) and wood. The colour mix is typical of travertine stone from the area around Siena and stands out for its considerable range of colours. The 4mm-thick shelves are made of natural iron sheet. The bookcase is self-supporting and to decrease the weight, the thicker slabs of stone have been hollowed out inside to make installation easier. As with all Vaselli products, the Sider Book bookcase can be completely customised. The customer can choose any material (stone and wood) and use various paints for the iron shelves, including their natural colour.
